Samuel Eto'o has officially joined Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala from Italian giants Inter Milan. The 30-year old Cameroon international still has to undergo a medical before he signs a three-year deal but Anzhi has confirmed that talks with Inter occurred today and the deal will be finalised tomorrow.
"An agreement has been reached between Anzhi and Inter for the transfer of Samuel Eto'o," read a statement on the Russian club's official website.
"The amount of the transfer has also been agreed upon. Anzhi wishes to thank Inter for their professional and constructive approach during talks.
"Eto'o will have a medical on Wednesday and he will then sign a three-year contract. Samuel will arrive in Russia on Thursday to prepare for the game against FC Rostov."
Reports suggest that the transfer fee will be an initial £24million, which could rise to £26m, whilst Eto'o is set to earn around £17.5million per annum (about £340,000 per week) in what is an enormous deal for the former Barcelona star.
