Michael Essien is keen to get to work for new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.
"Playing in defence is obviously different for me than being in midfield but I don't mind because the team is more important.
"I have to adapt myself to defend well and support when we are going forward but it's not something new for me.
"Maybe the system sometimes needs to change and the tempo of the team, so I don't mind going to play elsewhere."
