Michael Essien isn't giving up on his Chelsea career.

The Ghanaian international, 29, is finally back to full fitness after three crippling knee injuries.

Essien, who has seen the Blues spend £65million on fellow midfielders Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin this summer, said: "It's been a long and difficult road but now I feel I am getting back to where I used to be.

"I am not wondering where I will fit in. The injuries are behind me and I am looking to the future."
