US-based TV channel ESPN and Major League Soccer are highly likely to continue their TV rights partnership.
Philly.com has reported that ESPN will see their relationship with the USA and Canada's top flight soccer competition extend into 2015 and beyond.
NBC Sport's three-year deal is set to expire at the end of 2014 and they will not be a part of the next round of TV rights for MLS and US national team games.
ESPN's Fox Sports, who held the rights from 2003 until 2012, will be back in the saddle according to reports which have been backed by ESPN president John Skipper.
"We've been telling people for six months now, I think, that we're on the precipice of getting a deal, and we are on the precipice of getting a deal," Skipper said.
"It's the longest I've ever been on a precipice, but we expect to be partners with Major League Soccer going forward."
It is believed that ESPN and Fox will pay $70million a year for the rights which will begin in 2015 when Orlando City and New York City FC take MLS numbers to 21 teams.
