ESPN have announced they will no longer have dedicated Thursday primetime slots for Major League Soccer.
MLS games are planned to be shown on Thursdays, Saturdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.
âWe didnât see the kind of ratings climb weâd like to, so weâre trying something different,â ESPN VP of programming Scott Guglielmino told Sports Business Journal.
MLS spokesperson Dan Courtemanche, responding specifically to the Saturday games move, said: âWe feel we can provide a much larger crowd and a much more festive atmosphere for the viewer. That should translate to better ratings.â
