ESPN have responded to press reports that they plan to bid for TV rights in the UK for live English Premier League football matches. Damion Potter, ESPN's Communications Director, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Pacific Rim, said: "We are interested in discussions about all rights, including the Premier League, if it makes business sense. But we have nothing to announce at this time, despite press speculation."

Speculation across the media has linked the Walt Disney-owned ESPN with a bid for the live UK Premier League rights.
