Following the success of the recent World Cup, ESPN and Fox are cranking up their coverage of soccer from around Europe.
US viewers were all over the South African World Cup as the tournament attracted the highest-ever amount of watchers and now, with European competitions kicking off, there will be plenty more action for the soccer-hungry fans to watch.
ESPN will be able to show 74 English Premier League matches this season whilst Fox Soccer Channel has the rights to all 145 UEFA Champions League games and all 153 Europa League games
Fox's assistant general manager Dermot McQuarrie admitted the increase was warranted in what is now a demanding market in the US.
"It's giving a bigger viewing (audience) to the Premier League," said McQuarrie. "They're getting 75 games and we have 300 games. More people are going to watch it and we believe that's going to improve the viewing figures for the Premier League overall. It's a win-win."
