Espanyol winger Valdo has revealed he almost joined Blackburn Rovers.

"It is true that there was interest from a team in the last few days of the transfer market, but I always knew that the club had to accept the offer first and then me," the former Osasuna wide man told Sport.

"Espanyol rejected the offer and I was not going to go and try and force a move.

"I am grateful that clubs showed interest in me, but I am very happy here. This is my second season and I am feeling a lot better about things."
