Espanyol in talks with Getafe coach Laudrup

Espanyol have held talks with Getafe coach Michael Laudrup.

DiarioSport says the Dane has emerged as Espanyol's top choice to succeed Ernesto Valverde, who left the club this week. Espanyol have turned to Laudrup after being turned down by former Racing Santander coach Marcelino.

The stumbling block to any deal, however, could be Laudrup's insistence he bring his entire Getafe backroom team to Espanyol - his three assistants, John Jensen, Erik Larsesen and Luis Milla, his goalkeeper coach, Juan Carlos Arevalo and his fitness coach, Oscar Antonio Garcia.
