Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre has confirmed coach Mauricio Pochettino for next season.

The Argentine took over at Espanyol midway through this season and Sanchez Llibre said: "It would be logical if Mauro continued to count on our confidence for next season.

"The rise in the table is due to the work of Mauro and his technical staff.

"Their presence, together with the increased confidence of the players, is the basis for the good results in recent weeks. Mauro will almost certainly next year be our head coach."
