Espanyol striker Sergio Garcia: Why I turned down €20M to move to China

Espanyol striker Sergio Garcia has explained turning down a stunning offer from China.

Garcia had a two-year contract offer on the table from Hebei Zhongji, of the Chinese Second Division, worth €20 million.

"Several weeks ago they contacted us and made an offer to go to China. There have been many days since where we have been talking about it. In the end, the decision was 'no'," he said.

"The captain cannot abandon ship. These are my people and this is my home, and my heart told me I could not leave.

"That's why I rejected it."
