Espanyol have shocked Barcelona in the first-leg of their Copa del Rey showdown.

Oscar Melendo grabbed the winner on 88 minutes in a bitter clash.

It marked Espanyol's first victory over their city rivals since 2009.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde played a virtually full-strength team, with Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Paulinho all starting.

But it was Melendo, coming off the bench, who settled the game at the Nou Camp.
