Espanyol are pleased to have secured young defender Didac Vila to a new long-term contract which will keep him at the club until 2015.

Didac has progressed through the ranks at Espanyol since joining as a 10-year old and is regarded as one of their most impressive youngsters.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut at the beginning of the year and has quickly become one of the mainstays of Mauricio Pochettino's team.

Didac's contract was set to expire in 2012 but the Spain Under-20 international has extended his stay by three years.
