Espanyol reject Rangers offer for Raul Rodriguez

Espanyol have rejected an offer from Rangers for defender Raul Rodriguez.

Rangers submitted an offer for 23-year-old Rodriguez following several days of talks with the Spanish club.

But the deal - said to be worth £400,000 for a player who has made just 10 first-team appearances for his club - looks to have fallen short.

"The bid Rangers made for Raul was insufficient," Espanyol sporting director Ramon Planes told STV.

"It is not acceptable. We believe in Raul, he is a young player who hasn't played a lot of games. He is a player for the future."
