Espanyol are fighting to keep hold of David Lopez.

The defender is a target for Fulham, which has failed with bids of €9m and €12m in the last week.

AS says Espanyol are now pushing to secure Lopez to a new deal.

A formal contract offer arrived at the offices of the player's agents this morning, with Espanyol expanding their payroll to accommodate the offer.

Lopez is now in the US with the rest of the squad, but there is hope he will commit to new terms this week.
