Espanyol have lost midfielder Felipe Mattioni for six months with a knee injury.

The 22-year-old Brazilian winger is now due to have surgery in the coming days.

The injury will come as a huge blow to the player, who was in the final stages of recovery from a serious injury to his left knee last season.
