Espanyol chief Ramon Planes insists they haven't been in contact with Arsenal for striker Carlos Vela.
Vela has been linked with a loan move to Espanyol.
"At the moment, we do not want this footballer. I think the talk in the papers is just rumours," said Planes.
Planes also fielded questions regarding highly-rated centre half Victor Ruiz, who has been linked with Manchester City.
"We have not received formal offers from any clubs in England for Victor. If there are any proposals, they will probably arrive in the first week in January."
