Espanyol chief Jordi Lardin admits Aaron Martin deserved to be sent off during last night's Copa shock against Barcelona.

Aaron, having already been booked, escaped a red card after fouling Sergi Roberto.

"The second yellow to Aaron was clear and he should have been sent off," said Lardin.

"But the team has deserved the victory, it has been a long-suffering, hard-working match, and in the end, with an incredible effort, the team deserved the victory."

He added: "Barcelona have had almost all the match possession, but they have not had any clear chances, we've had one and we've taken it."
