Espanyol chief Paco Herrera insists he hasn't heard from former club Liverpool over an offer for Albert Riera.

"No club has been in touch with us at all," Herrera said.

"The best thing that could happen is that no player leaves. Right now Espanyol have a fantastic team."

Riera's agent Magico Diaz was quoted as claiming that Liverpool were reluctant to meet Espanyol's demands for the winger, with reports of a £16million price tag on the player's head.

Herrera did not mention any fee today but was adamant that if Riera was to leave, it would not be on the cheap.

"The club has fixed a price on the player, and we are not going to accept less. This is exactly what has happened with (Espanyol striker) Luis Garcia, and this is the strategy that we are going to follow with all," Herrera added.
