Espanyol are on the brink of signing Napoli midfielder Jasus Datolo.

Datolo, an Argentina international and former Boca Juniors player, has never established himself as a first-team regular at Napoli and spent the second half of last season on loan at Greek side Olympiacos.

"If we don't close an agreement with Espanyol, Datolo will stay at Napoli and try to look for more opportunities (with the Italian side)," said agent Jose Sampieri in Sport.

"We have already made it clear to the club that we are not going to listen to any offers that aren't from Espanyol."
