Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is making Espanyol midfielder Jordi Gomez his first signing since moving to the DW stadium.

Sport says Jordi agreed to move to the Latics yesterday in a £1.75 million deal, with the midfielder settling terms on a four-year contract.

Jordi also had an offer from Celtic, but wanted to follow Martinez to Wigan after playing for his fellow Spaniard at Swansea City last season.
