Eriksson wants Notts County to splash cash in transfer market

Notts County chief Sven Goran Eriksson wants the club's owners to fund a signing spree.

Manager Ian McParland has already seen his squad bolstered since Eriksson's arrival with the signing of veteran striker Lee Hughes.

And the Swede has called on the club's owner to provide the finance for more new arrivals, while also focusing on improving off-field matters.

Eriksson said: "The standard of football here is better than I thought it would be. But we still need more players.

"We also have to build the club up from the ground.

"We need a training ground, an academy and a scouting system - it will cost money but we cannot reach the Premier League without it."
