Sven Goran Eriksson had plans of luring his former England captain David Beckham to Notts County, it has been revealed.

The Telegraph says Eriksson conducted talks with the LA Galaxy midfielder's agent, who confirmed that he would be available in October this year.

"Sven spoke to David's agent and asked him what his plans were for the long term," former Magpies chairman Peter Trembling confirmed. "We said 'wouldn't it be great if he could finish his career at Notts County'."
