As Leicester hit a slump in form which has affected their promotion push, Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is asking for the fans to continue their loyal backing. City have slipped to 11th, five points adrift of the play-off places with just eight games remaining, and Eriksson insists the players need the support of the Blue Army now more than ever.
"I hope they are behind the players and the team as they have always been, and they travel in big numbers to Middlesbrough," Eriksson told the Leicester Mercury. "We are going to go on fighting and I hope they will go on supporting us because we need them.
"I know it is frustrating and it is equally frustrating if you are a supporter or a player. It is frustrating for everyone when you lose a game you think you really shouldn't be losing, like we did against Portsmouth.
"But I am sure we will take the chance and keep fighting for it as long it is possible. All together we will come back and maintain the spirit we have shown, starting at Middlesbrough. Help us, we need you!"
