Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson believes Rafa Benitez should cut Liverpool's American owners some slack.
"At the same time it is very important to have good relationships with everyone - the owners, the players, the fans ... referees even.
"I have never been influenced by anyone over players or tactics. Absolutely not. But whether we can buy that player or not then, yes, of course you have to listen to them. Do we have money for this or that?
"Buying very expensive players who are 32 or something like that, you have to understand it is about business for the chairman and the club.
"And so you have to listen and understand.
"You decided when to train, who to play.
"That is the manager's role and I think everyone in this country respects that very, very much - maybe more than people from other countries."
