Eriksson under pressure for Leicester promotion this term

Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has been warned that missing out on promotion to the Premier League will be viewed as a 'very disappointing', particularly after spending £10m on players in the transfer window. Reports have claimed that the former England coach has just five matches to save his job, but the Swede currently retains the faith of Leicester's Thai owners.

"Sven has all the say on what and who he wants," said Apichet Raksriaksorn, son of City owner and chairman Vichai Raksriaksorn, in the Leicester Mercury.

"He has assembled a strong squad. However, if he feels he needs to add to it, we will back him during the next transfer window with whatever funds and resources he needs."

Apichet added: "Leicester are not doing too bad. We drew 1-1 with Barnsley at the weekend and look very capable of putting together a strong run of results.

"Sven has signed some quality players and I believe it will be a successful and exciting season.

"I expect us to challenge for the Championship title and be in the Premier League next season.

"If we can't get up to the top tier soon, at least within the next few seasons, we will view that as a big failure.

"For me, it will be very disappointing if it doesn't happen this season."
