Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson insists his transfer targets are desperate to come to Eastlands.
Eriksson said: "He said something like 'I'm recovering from the shock' but he's in good spirits.
"I think he's happy. If you told him at the end of August that we'd be where we are after Christmas and the New Year, he would have accepted that, I'm sure.
"We have talked about players and if we can get the right ones that will be helpful. But we haven't changed the names.
"We've never spoken directly to players but with their agents and it's very good that very, very good footballers want to come to us."
