Recent reports suggest that Sven Goran Erikssonis launching a takeover bid of League Two club Notts County.

The former England boss is keen to join forces with the club's executive chairman Peter Trembling and purchase the club for £3million after it was put on the market by owners Munto Finance.

Eriksson was appointed the director of football at Notts County in the summer in a shock move and now hopes to purchase the club and eventually take it to the Premier League.

A source close to Eriksson said: "The Trembling/Sven takeover is the best, if not only, chance Notts County have got of keeping Eriksson."
