Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has hinted he soon expects to discuss a new contract with Geovanni.
"Geovanni has been a little bit unlucky, he's had some minor injuries and has a slight knock again, and he should have played for the reserves against Everton last week.
"He's been doing very well every time he comes on or starts, he has an impact on the game because technically he's fantastic, and he scores goals.
"The goal in the derby was a nice goal as well. When you see him in training everyday, those are the type of goals he can score. The shot he has is very difficult to save because the ball doesn't go straight, it goes up and down, and he has a special touch."
