Eriksson: Expectation weighs heavy on Leicester's shoulders

Big spending Leicester lost to Reading in their first home Championship game of the season, and Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson blames the weight of expectation surrounding the club. Eriksson, who questioned whether he had picked too many new signings in his starting XI, expects a much-improved display from his side against Bristol City on Wednesday night.

"I think they saw I was angry. Everyone knows we must perform better," said Eriksson. "I hope it is the expectation, and I told them that, because so many good football players shouldn't give the ball away so easily. Now the first home game is over and the second home game is on Wednesday.

"We all have a good possibility to show that the performance was an odd one. I hope so. It is good for us to have another game within a couple of days because we have to do better.

"I don't know if we had too many new players on the pitch. If you had asked me (whether it will take the player's time to gel) I would have said I don't think so because a big part of pre-season was very good and we were playing very good football."
