Eriksson: Everything possible at Thaksin's Man City

Sven Goran Eriksson has told Manchester City fans that "everything is possible" with chairman Thaksin Shinawatra in charge.

Eriksson has spent around £50m at City, but he knows such investment has to be sustained if City are to become as big as Shinawatra believes they can be.

"Everything is possible," said Eriksson. "When I joined Lazio they had a good team, but after the chairman spent money and we signed extremely good players we were fighting for the title for three years and won it in the third year.

"We won titles in Europe, including Cup Winners' Cup and Super Cup, and everything that was done there was done in three to three-and-a-half years.

"Unfortunately the money ended after that, which is why Lazio are where they are today, but that shows it's possible.

"In three years Lazio won six trophies and that was thanks to the money and the ambition the owner had. It would be very nice to replicate that at City."
