Eriksson cops fine on first day at Notts County

Sven Goran Eriksson has been fined 200 quid for his first day as new Notts County football chief.

The Sun says the Swede looked fleetingly embarrassed as his mobile phone trilled into dozens of microphones and tape recorders just minutes into his grand unveiling.

All roads lead to the East Midlands now that £2million-a-year Eriksson is head of recruitment.

Director of football, but not manager. Which is why he will have to defer to Ian McParland's disciplinary code and cough up a couple of hundred quid for having his mobile switched on. No-nonsense Scot McParland tried hard not to look bemused as the Sven circus rolled into Meadow Lane.
