Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is backing Juventus' interest in Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg.
"It would be a good idea for Juventus to sign Mellberg," Eriksson told Tuttosport. "For seven seasons, he has been a crucial foundation for Aston Villa and he has over 70 caps for Sweden.
"He is hard working and a tough fighter. He's a winner and a leader."
