High-profile agent Bayram Tutumlu has revealed Barcelona have been keen on Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen this season.
However, Tutumlu says there's a problem involving the Dane's current agent.
He told BT: "I was invited by Christian Eriksen to London in September and there he asked me what he needed to do to get to a bigger club. I told him that a bigger club wants him. When I visited Barcelona in May with my advisor Evren Sahin and Bröndby's owner, Jan Bech Andersen, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said that Christian Eriksen is the next big player from Denmark after Michael Laudrup. So I told Eriksen that Barcelona wants him.
"I also told Christian Eriksen that Barcelona is watching more things when buying a player, not just his football qualities. And they ended up buying (Philippe) Coutinho instead.
"It depends only on his agent (Martin Schoots) who destroyed it for him. But I'm still talking to Christian Eriksen, and I've told him that if he wants a bigger club, it should not happen through the agent. I will not mention his agent's name because it hurts me so much that he has destroyed Christian Eriksen."
On the question of what Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots did wrong, Tutumlu replied: "I do not want to comment. Christian Eriksen must do that. Now it may be that Christian Eriksen has ruined his chance to go to Barcelona because of his agent. But I hope that he does not make mistakes. Christian Eriksen knows what to do now. Let me clarify. It was not Christian Eriksen who failed, so Barcelona bought Coutinho instead of him.
"It was his environment. A good agent must be in contact with the big clubs. I do, even if I do not work anymore."
