Eric Black is set to join Aston Villa.

The Birmingham Mail says Villa are set to appoint former Birmingham City coach and Coventry manager as their assistant manager.

The decision has been made by manager Remi Garde .

Black will leave Rotherham to assist Garde as Villa try to somehow retain their Premier League status against all the odds.

The 52-year-old Scotsman played in France for Metz and Garde hopes his experience will help with the French contingent in Villa's squad.
