Joe Enrique's wages scuppered Newcastle's deal for Celtic defender Stephen McManus, it has been revealed.
The Evening Chronicle says it is understood a deal for McManus fell through because the Parkhead side were unwilling to pay Jose Enrique's wages, with the Spaniard offered 50% less than he is earning now to switch to the SPL.
