Newcastle United fullback Jose Enrique is convinced former teammates like Habib Beye will be regretting leaving St James' Park last summer.

Beye has struggled to make an impression at Aston Villa this season.

And Enrique told the Evening Chronicle: "I spoke to Habib Beye after I had scored against Nottingham Forest and he was happy for me.

"The players who played here and left will still be happy for us and the club.

"They still talk about how great the fans are here.

"Maybe they are a little bit sad too because they left and they have seen what we have achieved - many players would want to be part of this."
