Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers played Jose Enrique on the wing for victory over Wigan Athletic.
It's a role the former Newcastle man relished.
Enrique told liverpoolfc.com: "It was good. When I was younger I played a lot of times [in that position].
"I prefer to play at left-back because I am more comfortable there as I have played there all my life. I am happy there, but I can't say I didn't enjoy playing [further forward] against Wigan because I scored a goal and created an assist - and if the manager wants me there, I will play wherever he wants.
"With this manager, even when I play as a left-back I get forward a lot because he likes the full-backs to get forward - like Glen Johnson did. It's not much of a difference to play there.
"The style of play he wants us to play - tiki taka - is great. It will take time, but we have had some time with this style of play and I think we are showing that on the pitch."
