Enrique determined to avoid Liverpool left-back graveyard

Former Newcastle United fullback Jose Enrique is ready to meet expectations at Liverpool.

Liverpool have not had a reliable, natural left-back since John Arne Riise was sold to AS Roma in 2008, with Andrea Dossena, Emiliano Insua and Paul Konchesky all coming up short.

"I just want to do my work and I want to be important for the team,' he said. 'My work here will be different than it was at Newcastle. In Newcastle I had to attack a lot but here we have amazing players in all positions. It will be different work," said Enrique.

"I think in the next few games, if I continue to play, it will be easy to understand players of this quality. Against Sunderland, it was just about defending first, because that is my job. I have plenty more days to train with the team and understand."
