Newcastle United fullback Jose Enrique says he'll always be grateful to Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce for bringing him to the club.
Having already indicated he would like to spend the rest of his career in the black and white stripes of Newcastle United, Enrique could become one of the all-time great foreign imports to St James's Park.
He told The Journal: "I will always be grateful to Sam Allardyce because he brought me to Newcastle. He saw something he liked.
"He saw the potential in me and he was willing to take a chance on me and bring me to the Premier League. Without him, I would not be at Newcastle and I would not be loving it as much as I do.
"It was hard for me when I first came because I wasn't playing, didn't speak the language very well and I wasn't ready to play in English football. It was frustrating, but I understood.
"When he left it was a little sad, but that is football. I'm just very grateful he signed me for Newcastle United - because this has been a fantastic move for me."
