The Giallorossi were beaten 1-0 by an Emanuele Calaiò penalty despite having over 70 per cent possession, as there were hardly any decent scoring opportunities.
"It really wasn't our day," said the Spaniard. "I saw many of my men clearly playing below their usual levels.
"When we don't have positive possession or cannot find depth, then it becomes difficult. When you lose, something is always missing. We're a long way off the consistency we're looking for."
