The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has ruled out Englishman Peter Withe as coach of the national team. There has been speculation from some media that the former Thailand coach would take over in Kuala Lumpur but team manager Soh Chin Aun has said that current coach B. Sathianathan would retain his position.

FAM general secretary Azzuddin Ahmad said the association were not in the hunt for a foreign coach.

"Definitely, Withe is out. We have never considered him to be our new coach in the first place," Azzuddin told AFP.

"I do not have a list of possible foreign coaches," he added.
