English journeyman Cooke in with Nth Qld Fury
English midfielder Terry Cooke has arrived in Townsville to hook up with North Queensland Fury as he attempts to win a contract for the remainder of season.
Cooke is looking to impress Ian Ferguson and replace another Englishman on Fury’s roster in the injured Paul Robinson.
Cooke has played for an amazing array of clubs in his career including Manchester United, Sunderland, Birmingham, Wrexham, Manchester City, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday and Grimsby but Cooke’s best stage of his long career was with Colorado Rapids in the MLS where he played for fpur seasons and was voted player with most goal assists.
Cooke’s greatest strength is his quality crosses and that should make Robbie Fowler and Daniel McBreen happy.
With the two forwards in fine form, especially Liverpool legend Fowler, the arrival of Cooke sets up an exciting run home for the Fury who have a large number of their remaining games at Dairy Farmers in Townsville.

sounds like a good scoop, will be an asset to the league, and rumour has it that Barry furgerson will be out here in the next couple of years as he nearly signed with north queensland in the off season. Ian furgerson (NQFC coach) is doing wonders in attracting names and playing entertaining football with a crap roster of players, once they can get David Williams in scoring form they will be the strongest outfit in Australia with these new imports
hey cookie, good luck and hope to see you back in the US of A soon.
cookie is a great player..we missed him the latter part of season and missed the play offs..these geniuses here in their wisdowm let our greatest goals assist go and our goals dried up...so cookie we wish you well and will follow your career down under...watch those crocs!
