Falkirk may have to sell Scott Arfield in January as a host of English clubs look ready to make a bid for him. The 20-year-old midfielder is tied to Falkirk for another four-and-half years and was the standout player in the weekend defeat against Celtic.

Falkirk boss John Hughes admitted money was tight at the club.

"I think we're feeling the pennies. We're feeling the crunch," he admitted.

"I was talking to a couple of the directors and I don't think there will be any money there to bring anyone in during January."
