English-born Sutter excited about Switzerland v England clash

English-born defender Scott Sutter can’t wait for Tuesday’s clash between Switzerland and England.

The 24-year old is now a Swiss citizen and has been selected for squad for the Euro2012 qualifier to be played in Basel.

After spending the past eight years in Switzerland playing with Swiss Super League clubs Grasshopper and Young Boys, Sutter feels a sense of pride for his adopted nation and admits it will be a special moment taking on the Three Lions in a competitive fixture.

“I have been in Switzerland for eight and half years, this country has become my home, this selection is all the more special because we will be playing against the country where I spent the first years of my life,” he admitted.

“England would be my first competitive cap for Switzerland. It is strange that it has fallen like this if I play, but I am really looking forward to the whole occasion.

“My mates actually don’t give me too much stick at all, they are just really happy for me and really supportive. That might change a bit if Switzerland beat England, though!”
