England U21 coach Southgate eager to keep upping standards

England U21 manager Gareth Southgate urges his side to keep improving despite the fine 3-2 victory over Germany on Monday.

The impressive win over Germany has further reiterated England's tag as one of the favourites for the upcoming 2015 European Championships but manager Southgate is not content with how things are going at the moment and has urged his players to keep pushing up their standards.

Speaking after the game, Southgate said: "We have belief in the group of players, and they are fantastic to work with. We believe they can play at a very high level, but we believe because of the talent and the ability that they have and the attitude that they have that we can keep pushing them.

"We have to keep pushing because the standard will go up again in the summer and everybody else will be more competitive again, and we have got to be the same."
