England U21 coach Stuart Pearce is being linked with the job at Wigan Athletic.

The Sun says Pearce is a shock candidate to replace Roberto Martinez as Wigan manager.

Latics owner Dave Whelan expects Martinez to quit the DW Stadium for Everton this summer.

And England Under-21 boss Pearce, who will be out of contract after next month's European Championships in Israel, is on the shortlist to takeover.
