England U21 manager Gareth Southgate insists that Ravel Morrison's video-taped goal at training the other day was not a fluke.
The Football Association posted footage of the West Ham United young gun firing home a mule-kick - an aerial volley with the side-foot of his right leg behind his left - at U21s training ahead of Tuesday's European championship qualifier against San Marino on Tuesday.
Southgate, speaking after training, said this particular skill was not the first time Morrison had pulled out a party trick and just shows how talented the former Manchester United youngster is.
"It is not hype when it is a video of something he has done," Southgate said. "It is there for everyone to see what he is capable of.
"As a coach, I love the creativity of it because you could try a more straightforward finish and still not pull it off.
"It is not a case of being over-elaborate. That was a finish that is just as hard if you hit it with a side-foot volley or you do what he did.
"He did what he did and it is an incredible goal. It is interesting the mind-set of a couple of our players because they are creative thinkers, definitely."
