England U20 coach Boothroyd hails West Brom striker Berahino

England U20 coach Aidy Boothroyd is convinced about the quality of West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.

Berahino is part of England's squad for the Toulon tournament.

Boothroyd said: "Saido has proved he can play and perform at that level and the next step for him now is to make sure he continues that development and makes himself a regular starter in West Brom's team," said Boothroyd, who is assisting under-19 boss Noel Blake.

"Saido is a good example of a player who did very well in the youth teams for England and West Brom and then went out on loan for Northampton and did very well.

"He went to Brentford, another level, and started off great but dipped and came back to West Brom. But whether it be through injury, luck or someone else's bad luck he got in the side."
