England U19 boss Blake delighted with Man Utd trio

England U19 coach Noel Blake was delighted with his Manchester United players for victory over Switzerland.

The win sees England qualify for the U19 Euros this summer.

Blake was particularly impressed with the defensive display at Preston's Deepdale and praised Reds trio Sam Johnstone, who captained the side, Michael Keane and Tom Thorpe.

"We had to dig in and Sam Johnstone made some terrific saves, but we defended very well overall and it was a top performance from our defenders, particularly the centre-backs [Michael Keane and Eric Dier] who have only just come together," Blake informed TheFA.com.

"Tommy Thorpe in the middle of the park too, he's a centre-half normally but has been playing there for his club and looked right at home so there were some really good individual performances."
